As part of several student research projects, a powertrain test bench based on model construction is being set up at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) in Mannheim. The control of this test bench is based on Siemens drive components and primarily on a PLC S7-1500.
Among other things, the test bench had to export the required measurement data to a measurement protocol on a Windows computer. For the future, it is also planned to use Excel maps for the specification of characteristic diagrams. The PLCDataSuite is ideal for these requirements.
Julian Wagner from DHBW:
“Our experience with the software has been very positive in contrast to alternative solutions. The communication setup with the PLC is very simple. For the triggering and the transfer of measurement data by means of the corresponding blocks, we oriented ourselves to the example project supplied. With the help of the clearly arranged example project, the read access could be successfully established.”
Supporting research and teaching has a long tradition in our young company. For example, we work in research projects with universities and offer internships / theses for prospective academics.
